RM1527 collection day
On 28 August, we purchased RM1527 for preservation alongside RM1033 and MB90. RM1527 had been withdrawn from service in 2003, before being purchased by an asset management company along with three RMLs. 15 years of storage followed before they were all repurchased by Ensign. 1527 has remained remarkably original, seemingly escaping any refurbishment programmes - the only major change being the fitment of a Scania engine in place of the AEC. These pictures show her on collection from Ensign, before the long journey back to Basingstoke.
