When buying my present home many years ago, there were lots of legal delays. I got to know the previous owners & was made welcome here. One day they phoned to tell me their lovely old cat had died & asked my permission to bury her in her favourite place in the garden. We agreed that they would leave a stone cat in her memory & I would plant a flowering shrub to mark the place. The plant still flowers & I remember her every year.
