This is experimental work - in fact, I just discovered I could do this kind of thing with Corel Painter Essentials 4.
The 'automatic painting' program was not used. Rather, this was done using 'paintbrushes' in the program to 'paint' by hand over the original image. The 'brushes' utilize the colors that are in the original. Later, other brushes can apply new colors that are not in the original, if so desired. Here, for example, the shine of the vase was done later with a 'spraybrush'.
