Jurassic World ....
.... this is a series, long - and - short, of black and white photographs, made in Sardinia last summer 2018; I returned to the places where I attended the first years of high school as a boy. I returned to Cuglieri (Oristano), I reviewed its places-beaches-coasts (Santa Caterina di Pittinnuri, S'Archittu, Torre del Pozzo, Is Arenas, Cornus); I've been to Oristano, Putzu Idu, Bosa, Bosa Marina, Alghero, Castelsardo (with its Elephant Rock), Capo Testa, Porto Cervo, Cala Volpe; I reviewed the Nuraghi, typical conical truncated buildings built from 1800 BC. until 1100 BC (I focused on the "window" in the shape of Toro, presents on the entrance of the nuraghi, in fact the Taurus in Sardinia was a divine symbol); I visited the "Domus de Janas" (the "fairy houses"), necropolis built in a period between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age; I was in Cabras (Oristano) where I saw the "Giants of Mont'e Prama", which are Nuraghic sculptures. Finally I thank my former high school friend and friend, Engineer Giuseppe Idda, who in this my journey in the wonderful land of Sardinia was a prompter and attentive and affectionate mentor; I also thank my former high school friend and friend Peppino Sulas, who always gives me his affection and his ironic sympathy, finally I thank all the old acquaintances and friends I met in Cuglieri, who welcomed me making me feel as if in Sardinia I was at my house.
.... questa è una serie, lunga - e - corta, di fotografie in bianco e nero, realizzate in Sardegna la scorsa estate 2018; sono ritornato nei luoghi nei quali frequentai da ragazzo i primi anni del liceo. Sono ritornato a Cuglieri (Oristano), ho rivisto i suoi luoghi-spiagge-coste (Santa Caterina di Pittinnuri, S'Archittu, Torre del Pozzo, Is Arenas, Cornus); sono stato ad Oristano, Bosa, Bosa Marina, Alghero, Castelsardo (con la sua Roccia dell'Elefante), Capo Testa, Porto Cervo, Cala Volpe; ho rivisto i Nuraghi, tipiche costruzioni tronco coniche costruite a partire dal 1800 a.C. fino al 1100 a.C (mi sono soffermato sulla "finestra" a forma di Toro, presenta sulla porta d'ingresso dei nuraghi, il Toro infatti in Sardegna era un simbolo divino ); ho visitato le "Domus de Janas" (le "case delle fate"), necropoli realizzate in un periodo compreso fra il Neolitico e l’età del Bronzo; infine sono stato a Cabras (Oristano) ove ho visto i "Giganti di Mont'e Prama", i quali sono sculture nuragiche. Infine ringrazio il mio ex compagno di liceo ed amico, l'Ingegnere Giuseppe Idda, che in questo mio viaggio nella meravigliosa terra di Sardegna mi è stato suggeritore ed attento ed affettuoso mentore; ringrazio anche il mio ex compagno di liceo ed amico Peppino Sulas, che mi fa dono sempre del suo affetto e della sua ironica simpatia, infine ringrazio tutti i vecchi conoscenti ed amici incontrati in quel di Cuglieri, i quali mi hanno accolto facendomi sentire come se in Sardegna fossi a casa mia.
