Disused Howley lock, river Mersey Warrington 17/01/10
Looking the other way at the disused Howley lock chamber towards the weir which is situated just behind the trees. It must have been tricky entering the lock from the upstream direction as barges would have to turn side on to the weir with the flow of water pushing down towards it.
