my mother was a dancer.

and im not.

even though i have the body to be one.

long legs.

long arms.

long torso.

fingers fit to play a piano.

a neck to hold my chin up.

a gaze to murder you.

long curly brown hair that falls down my back.

i am a dancer behind the volleyball spandex.

and the basketball shorts.

and the softball cleats.

and the wetsuit.

i am a dancer.

it runs in my blood.
