As in many of her works, Rotterberg creates an uncanny link between people and places in NoNoseKnows. The work opens with an impressively tall woman (Bunny Glamazon) motoring through a deserted cityscape making her way to work. Filmed in Zhejiang province of China, the video also depicts women working in two freshwater-pearl production chains. Blending fact and fiction, a strange connection exists between the labourers and Glamazon, whose every sneeze produces a plate of pasta. The absurdity of the painstaking labour involved in the production of pearls is juxtaposed with an even more absurd means of production. The cramped rooms and corridors created for the set, which enhance Glamazon's physical presence, are reproduced here in the scale of the pearl room through which visitors pass.
