crazy zigzags in old-school mosaic work
From my childhood I always craned my neck out of the car window to catch a glimpse of this 4-storied building with its dizzying mosaic pattern on the walls of its 3 verandas on the upper levels that formed the main facade of the building. Each wall had its own uniquely shaped and colored bands of zigzags, visually separated by horizontal grille rails with lightly interspersing yellow flowers, which reminded me of lace borders.
Till last year 2 of 3 levels were still visible from the Mohakhali flyover, but now only the middle level survives. I had shot this "just-like-that" from a moving car.. had I known I would miss those crazy zigzags I would've stopped the car and rolled down the glass...
