Chorley Trainee makes the grade
A trainee on a government funded training scheme has done so well on his six month placement with CCH that he’s been rewarded with a permanent job. Andrew Thomasson, who was initially hired as a Trainee Grounds Maintenance Assistant for six months, scored an ‘excellent’ rating in all areas of his performance and has now been given a job as a Grounds Maintenance Assistant.
Jayne Allison, Sustainability Officer for CCH, said: “Andrew has been with us for six months under the Government’s Future Jobs Fund programme, which was set up to help young people who have been unemployed long term back into work. His position was only temporary but he impressed us so much that we have been able to offer him a permanent job.”
Future Jobs Fund trainees are supported by CCH to help them get back into the work routine. Jayne explained: “We provide on the job training and employability skills training to help young people with little or no work experience get into the work groove. Andrew excelled at this – he had no sick days and didn’t even take all of his holiday entitlement.”
