This is what happens to the INSIDE of your tire when it loses air (even a gentle release of air) at 70mph on the turnpike. Despite my getting off the road as soon as I sensed something odd, the tire looked fine from outside, but off the rim at the 3G's shop you can see the steel wires coming thru the delaminated inner sidewall. (The INSIDE/bottom of the tire/tread is to the left; the rim edge to the right.) I was also able to grab a fistful of totally shredded rubber with tiny bits of steel-sidewall-wires in it. Thanks to "Stewart" at 3G's Tire, 52 Fox St Portland for getting me back on the road fast, expertly and inexpensively! (207)772-1255
