Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach | Making a Splash!
The circular water chute was invented by German showman Hugo Haase. Haase operated the prototype at the 1928 Press Exhibition in Cologne. It was then moved to Great Yarmouth, where it operated at Pleasure Beach throughout the 1929 season, before going off to the amusement park at Barry Island.
This ride was constructed in house, although the design is based on Haase's. The image, taken in 1976, shows one of the boats/cars of the ride as it splashes into the pool at the bottom of the long drop.
