Horizontal Lightning

Friday night I led a group of 10 for a snowshoe walk on Seymour. There wasn't a lot of snow, but it was soft and everyone had a good time. The thick fog meant no light from the moon or stars or city lights so we had to use headlamps. We went up to a middle knoll on Suicide Bluffs. It was an interesting exercise in trusting my sense of direction to pick a route through the trees and snow, without day or city lights to help guide me.

Creating a channel through the snow is always neat. I didn't have to lead on the way back - we now had a walking luge track. We hadn't had any views due to the fog & clouds, I still hadn't taken any shots of the group. So I set my tripod up and snapped them as they went by. Can you see their happy faces? :)
