Converted grain silos in the city of my birth, Copenhagen.
This pair of former grain silos were converted into trendy apartments by wrapping the concrete structure in a glass skin, in which the apartments were cantilevered from the facade of the silos. The existing interior space was retained, with bare concrete and bold black and white spaces to create a very minimalist experience (I was fortunate enough to know one of the tenants of the building, so I could explore inside)
Unfortunately, the building seems to have been a clash between design and commercial aspirations, meaning that money saving techniques can be seen in the finish and the details around the building. Specifically the space the building resides in, which has been scarred by a coating of tarmac by lazy developers.
