Emergency Landing Aftermath

KLAX (Los Angeles International Airport) - 19 SEP 2016

 

Southwest Airlines N555LV (FLT SWA2634) originally destined for Nashville Int'l (KBNA) suffered a right main tire blowout on takeoff at approximately 18:11 local time and the pilot declared an emergency.

 

The aircraft circled Catalina Island for nearly an hour, made a low pass down the runway and circled Catalina Island for several more minutes before landing on RWY 25R with the blown right main tire.

 

This photo was taken about 9 minutes after the aircraft landed on RWY 25R. There were no injuries.
