The Yee Lab Snowman.

The Yee Lab is a clinical research lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center that specialize in Melanoma. In the spirit of the holidays, they have shared with BioTechniques a snowman made out of lab materials.

 

-The top hat is made out of two bottle caps and cardboard

-The eyes are made of 15mL syringe stoppers

-The nose out of orange microcentrifuge tubes

-The pipe out of 1000uL pipette tip

-The scarf out of 5mL and 10mL pipette wrappers

-The hands out of foil

-The broom out of a pipette covered in green tape and 2mL aspirating pipette wrappers and twisty ties

-The head filled with broken up pieces of styrofoam racks

-The gingerbread house in the middle layer is made out of 1.5mL cryovials with red and white tape, along with the cardboard from the glove boxes wrapped in green and red tape

-The Christmas tree made out of 250uL green pipette refill racks and the star topper with yellow post-its

-The presents with cardboard from the pipette box wrapped and colored with Sharpie, the bows on the presents with blue and orange pipette wrappers like the scarf.

-The whole snowman structure is made out of 1L, 500mL, and 250mL Nalgene bottles

-The snowflake bottom is made out of a blue bench pad
