I made this photo of a mature bird of paradise flower behind a flower yet to emerge in al its splendor. Melody and I have several of these plants in the backyard of our San Francisco home, making it difficult to get two flowers isolated in a photo like this. I shot this in late mid-afternoon in early May 2021 while we were still under Covid-19 restrictions. As usual, I used my Canon Powershot SX50.
