I made this photo of two men with their heads under the blanket covering a makeshift shelter on 13th Street in San Francisco's South of Market Area - SOMA. What caught my attention was the beat up office chair on the left side of the picture. I often wonder why people who are living on the street accumulate so much seemingly worthless stuff - like a broken chair. Since there are three bicycles surrounding the tent, maybe there are three people living in this cardboard shelter. I am very grateful to have a roof over our head surrounded by a home rather than be exposed to the elements.
