Melody with 1,000 Peaks quilt Work In Progress 160207-164127 C4e
This is Melody holding up the main part of her 1,000 Peaks Quilt that will be a gift for our friend Susie in Idaho. The design is based on the 1,000 pyramid quilt pattern. However, since our friend lives in the mountains, we will be referring to the triangles as peaks. This is the first traditional American Melody has made. The progress here is one month after the first few rows she is holding up in the following slide. This is a WIP - Work in Progress - as of February 7, 2016. At this point, Melody decided the was enough rows and started basting and piecing the border. One interesting aspect of this quilt project is that Melody is primarily using quilting materials from her stash she brought from her home to mine after we married. A few of the triangles are made from material I had inherited from my dear mother who was a wonderfully talented seamstress, tailor, and knitter. Photo made on our new back deck with my Canon Powershot SX50.
