976za Utility roof fascia removed

The fascia on my utility room flat roof had developed rot. It was at least 20 years old.

I decided to replace the roof of the extension which was built by the previous owner who should have been called Mr Bodgit because everything he did was bodged.

When I stripped the fascia off this is what I saw. The bricks haven't been properly mortared ,there was no brick at all at one end and the flat roof sheeting instead of being 3/4 inch ply was 1/4 inch wafer board.

Now I'll have to strip that off and replace it properly. Not really a job for mid winter.

I've now bought the timber sheeting and new fascia boards for under £60. I need to order the outer covering which I'm intending to be EDPM rubber which is very easy to apply and should last at least 30 years .

I hope to do the whole job .......... facsias, new boarding and roof membrane for about £140 which is pretty reasonable for a roof which is 11 feet by 7 feet .
