Is the Air Conditioner in your vehicle blowing HOT AIR? Well, chances are it has something to do with the Freon level in your vehicles a/c system. When we service a a/c system at Dan's, we always install some dye into the a/c oil system. That way, if the freon ever leaks out, we can easily locate where the freon is leaking from. This picture shows the Fluorescent Dye "glowing" as we shine an Ultraviolet light on the air conditioning compressor and high pressure cut out switch on this 1999 Cadillac Escalade. We inject this dye into the air conditioning system and then drive the vehicle around for a while or until the freon leaks out. This vehicle had the dye injected into it last summer(June 2008). It is very easy to see where this system is leaking the freon from( the glowing yellow/green color indicates freon that has leaked out of the system).
