Firas Abu-Jaber
LEGO Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m really excited to share my latest passion project with you all:
A 100% alternative build of the LEGO Creator Expert Porsche 911 (10295) into the legendary JDM icon—the Initial D Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86! 🐼️
This model took me about 3 months of daily designing, prototyping, and rebuilding from scratch to get the shapes, structural rigidity, and features exactly right within the limitations of the original set's parts inventory.
️✨Here are some of the main technical features implemented:
Scale: Kept it at the exact 1:13 scale to match the original Porsche's shelf presence.
Steering: Fully functional steering connected directly to the interior steering wheel.
Moving Parts: Completely openable doors, hood, and rear trunk with solid hinge connections.
Pop-Up Headlights: Mechanically functional pop-up headlights that open and close smoothly.
Interior & Engine: A detailed scale replica of the twin-cam engine bay and the iconic brown/orange cabin setup.
It was a huge engineering puzzle to make the chassis rock-solid for display and handling without utilizing a single external part outside the 10295 box (I only used a few of the official spare pieces included in the set).
Custom Initial D stickers and 3D-printed scale wheels are currently in the works to finish the look.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the final look and proportions! 🏁👇
