The MOCA was rad. Everyone who worked there was super young and friendly. It was mostly video installation stuff right now which is right up my alley these days. There were some pretty intense pieces on display. One involved a room that smelled overpoweringly of ammonia (so much so that the guard wore a face-mask) that was meant ot simulate the lives of elderly cleaning women. It was very unsettling.
But on a brighter, awesome note, all of the cubbies you got to leave your bags in had awesome modern art terms! Of course I chose Existentialism. But it was a tough fight between Andy Warhol (who I used later) and sound art (which I also used later – I went back and forth a lot) and Man Ray (sadly unused).
