The Strand
This is an anonymously published postcard showing The Strand looking east from the junction with the Aldwych. The year is 1912, seven years on from my previous post of the scene. The Sunshine Girl is playing at the Gaiety Theatre, starring George Grossmith Jr and Phyllis Dare in another Edwardian musical comedy. The play ran from February for 336 performances and this appears to be sometime in the summer. In the middle is St. Mary Le Strand and Somerset House is middle right.
