This is an A&G Taylor's series postcard dating from about 1905 but the photograph is several years earlier, there is no sign of a motorised vehicle, horse drawn buses and Hansom cabs rule the roadway. The view is looking northeast towards St. Martin in the Fields from a first floor window at 33, Cockspur Street, the premises of E. Dent & Co. Ltd the famous clock and watchmaker to the Queen and makers of the Big Ben clock. There appears to be a structure on the pedestrian refuge in Cockspur Street, could it be a stall of some kind?
