Golden Eagle (attacking Sandhill Cranes)
Golden Eagle (attacking Sandhill Cranes)
Aquila chrysaetus.
Rucker Canyon Road. Near Elvira. Arizona. USA. We were watching a large flock of Cranes that were feeding in a stubble field. After a short while all the cranes took flight with a cacophony of noise. They were being attacked by a single Golden Eagle which we later learnt had been feeding from the flock all winter.
