The Aether
Original version of this shot showing the natural colors and starlight shining through the cloud layer in the very early morning hours. The storm was just building, constantly flashing heat lightning.
So, every year I take a trip to dark sky country (Bortle Dark Scale of 2), to photograph the Perseid meteor shower. This year I went a week early due to the full moon falling on the 12th, which is always the peak for the show. Well, the weather didn't cooperate too well leaving much clouded skies and a haze that was ruining transparency. In the few times we saw clear sky, we saw no meteors anywhere. It was sad. But, as usual, we had fun taking the trip and shooting at night.
