Juniper Bonsai
One thing about Bonsai , it teaches patience, not a strong point
about me.
However I am learning that too and it pays off, this project
I first started to panic last fall all throughout winter right into March .
The bottom branch didn't look good and lot of die off but its bouncing back .
I wasn't ready for full out Nebari work and I did it I removed 3/8 of an inch wide strip below the soil line and tourniquet below the removal of bark and cambium with a wire , the patience
is checking below the soil line to see if the wound produced roots and I should just look at the whole picture here and it tells me all I need to know , One: the lower branch is snapping out of it and growing and the rest of the tree is pushing lots of new growth around the whole tree.
I can just settle down and let this be for another season just to be sure and IF a set of new roots developed the eventual removal of the remaining tap root and lower feeder roots, doing this gives me a shorter tree with wider flair or fat base tree and allows for a shallow and smaller Bonsai pot .
