Gingham Train Engine ©
I made a few of these Gingham train engines back in about 1970 or a couple years later. The pattern was originally in a magazine. First the gingham fabric was glued to poster card weight, then the pieces of this 3 dimensional train were cut out. It was trimmed with four felt wheels also on poster card weight added. On the front, is a white felt circle. I wish I knew how to ever get a copy of the original pattern again. There was a Biplane and a model T type car with running boards made the same way, but I only made up the train engines. The car was especially cute. This engine is about 4 1/2 inches in length.
Back then I used liquid school glue, what a mess that was to get the fabric glued on to a big sheet, and smooth it all out!
