Nesting Sandhill Crane

Gallistel Woods, University of Wisconsin Arboretum, Madison, Wisconsin. Taken from the marsh boardwalk using the support pole tops as an improvised tripod. I very slowly walked out the boardwalk to minimize disturbing the nesting crane. However, it is clear, at this point, that I am being carefully observed. This image is approximately a 3.5 X crop.
