Windmill in Water Mill, New York

This wind-driven grist mill

had been used by local farmers,

Montauk Highway & Halsey Lane.

 

The James Corwith Grist Mill was built in 1800 in Sag Harbor and moved to Water Mill in 1814 by Corwith. Its operation lasted until 1887.
