129/365 - Helicopter Transfer
Monday morning it was back to work, and man did I have a helluva week setup for me. I left the house at about 3:30 in the morning to take a flight to Nice. I was taking part in the AcmePacket conference for a few days in Monaco (I know - what a tough life!) So I landed in Nice and immediately saw this sign. It's not too often (particularly in an airport this size) that you see a sign for a helicopter transfer. But then again I'd never been to the French Riviera and I certainly knew that Nice and Monaco were wealthy areas.
Anyway the conference was outstanding. I'm a super big geek and it was so refreshing (with all due to respect to those that may have attended the conference) to be surrounded by other huge geeks. We talked about all sorts of things related to the telecommunications industry and it was just great. At the end of the day we had dinner at the Prince's Palace, where there were over 100 private cars on exhibition. It was an interesting place and a great day back at work.
