A clear illustration of the size difference between the two eagles, female on left, male on right. Females are generally larger than the males in wingspan, weight, etc. but there is a little overlap and there are differences between the northern and southern subspecies. These are likely northern birds and the substantial difference in size is a good (not infallible) indication of gender.
