One of a series of mileposts on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

 

The Trent & Mersey Canal connects the River Trent navigation at Derwent Mouth near Shardlow with the Bridgewater Canal at Preston Brook. Despite its name, the Trent & Mersey never connected to the Mersey; however Preston Brook used to give access to the Mersey via the Bridgewater Canal.
