[82579] Sheffield : Central Library - Mapping Sheffield - 1920s

Central Library, Surrey Street, Sheffield.

Mapping Sheffield.

1 October 2019 - 24 December 2019.

One of three watercolour images showing proposals for city centre development in the 1920s.

Drawn up by Frederick Ernest Pearce Edwards (1863-1945). Sheffield City Architect 1908-26.

A proposed viaduct from South Street (Park Hill), across the railway and Central Bus Station to what is now Arundel Gate. It was, of course, never built.
