[41653] Laughton : D'Alison

All Saints, Laughton, Lincolnshire.

A full length brass to a member of the D'Alison (or Dalison) family, c14.

It shows the deceased in plate armour, feet on a lion, beneath an ogee canopy. The brass was reset c1549 on top of the tomb chest of William & George D'Alison.

 

Here lie William D'Allison Esquire, formerly Sheriff & Receiver for the County of Lincoln and 7th Justice of the same County. And George D'Allison son and heir of the above William who died December 18th AD 1546 the 37th year of the Imperial Reign of King Henry Vlll. And the said George died Jan 22nd AD 1549 the 3rd year of the Imperial Reign of King Edward Vl. Upon whose souls may God have mercy. Amen.
