By Sir Herbert Baker & Alexander T Scott, and their successor Vernon Helbing. It was completed in three stages.

London House was established in 1931 by the Chairman of Barclays Bank and founder of Barclays DC&O, Frederick Craufurd Goodenough (1866-1934) - who raised the funds with which to found the Dominion Students' Hall Trust - as a place where students from the British Empire could live a collegiate life.
