The place we bought in 1998 was a rehabbed church. It was originally built in 1888 and was completely abandoned during the mid 1980's. A developer saw it and partnered with an architectural firm that converted several churches into condos in Chicago. We saw the place as an empty gut and used our imagination on what the place would like like. The next day after we saw the empty shell of a place we put a down payment on it. We moved in in 2000 and have been here ever since. It's a great place to live.
