Water colour - tonal exercise

I am calling my water colours Humble Beginnings because that's what they are. It is a long and slow process for me. I used to be just about paralysed with fear of putting brush to paper, worrying that it all would turn into a brown mess and soggy paper. Practising every day has slowly been easing this fear and it has become a bit easier.

Currently, I am doing an online watercolour course and we had to find a picture, sketch tones, and paint a tonal landscape, the first landscape with just one colour, and later ones with colour. I think this scene, cut out from a newspaper, is somewhere in New Zealand :)
