Missing Lines?

This photo was taken just a week or so after track was lifted, sleepers still very visable

This line ran from Castleford Station in the south to a junction just east of Garforth Station in the North. Along this route includes Castleford Viaduct (840ft long), Ledston Station, Bowers Halt and Kippax Station. Opened in 1878 and closed to passengers by 1951.

From Garforth Junction to Park Lane (North of Ledston Station) has been converted into a cycle track and pathway, nothing remains of Kippax Station. The line was closed to freight in 1969 but Ledston Station to Castleford Station wasn't closed to freight until 1998 so alot of the track remains (track has started to be lifted around Ledston Station within the last year or so).
