guy grey smith or not?
i bought this in an op shop because it looked like it was the work of someone skilled, and it intrigued me.
as i drove home i looked again and somehow my mind must have remembered a lecture on west australian artists and the name guy grey smith came into my head.
i have only half tried to find out if it is or if it is not.
in a way, i dont want to know if its not. but on the other hand if it is i do want to know.
i like it - the lady in the charity store charged me $15.00 for it "because that frame is worth a lot you know"
money grabbing old biddy.
i never liked her since the day she informed me that the charity she worked for did not cater for aboriginals - then went on to explain how aboriginals were a waste of effort and were only out for a free ride.
it always astounds me when i hear these types of comments, but in this case it was a church based charity that deals in helping people get off drugs. obviously whiteys only.
so i hope it is by guy grey smith- as that will be more evidence of her blinkered existence.
and then, as if to prove to me that this woman was totally false... the frame broke when i got it home!!!
I would also like to add that her shop smells foul.
on the day i bought this painting though, it smelt like money.
and racism.
and hipocrisy.
i must one day find out if it is for sure, if only to share my good news with her.
ahahahahah silly old woman in the smelly shop!
