1996 Chevrolet Impala SS
Final year for full size GM RWD.
The Impala SS sport sedan came fully loaded at $24,405, with the only options being a heat reflective windshield, AM/FM CD player (no charge) and the 1SE package with power passenger seat, remote keyless entry and Twilight Sentinel. Gray leather interior seating five with front buckets was standard, along with P225/50ZR-17 high performance tires, 17" wheels, 4-speed automatic and three exterior paint selections of Black, Dark Cherry or Dark Green-Gray.
In the final year, Impala SS production exceeded Caprice sedan production with 41,941 (compared to 27,155 Caprice sedans). Production of GM full size RWD models at the Arlington, Texas plant ended in December 1996 to allow for added truck and SUV production capacity.
