Citroen CX Sport Break - 197X

Citroen has made some cool cars over the years. Well, maybe not recently, but in the past some of the great technical revolutions on the industry were wrapped into singular cars with futuristic styling.

Citroen also made wagons (or Break - as they are known in their native France) - and although frequently as technically advanced as their saloon counterparts, they tended to be a bit goofy looking, to meet their primary design consideration, which was to house people and stuff in the back.

Take away this requirement and you offer some more stylistic freedom. An in house effort being the GS Break from the 1970s, and the Xantia from the 1990s.

Artist Sebastian Motsch likes to photoshop production cars into dream cars, and chose the Citroen CX Break as his muse, to create the Citroen CX Shooting Break Gullwing:

Perhaps a perfectly themed period study to a future-world wagon, this model blends groovy Citroen-ness with future-vision gullwing doors, long profile side windows, big wheels and a lowered stance.

Notwithstanding how cool this works out to be, the underpinning Citroen CX Break is not your typical starting point for this futuristic conversion activity.

This Citroen CX Sport Break has been created for Flickr LUGNuts' 114th Build Challenge, - "Automotive Culture Mashup", - a challenge to test creativity by converting cars in a car-modifying cultural mashup (whatever that means) that wouldn't normally receive that particular treatment.
