Jeep Wrangler (JL) 2018 SWB 3-Door
Jeeps have been around, pretty much forever. A new one pops up now and again.
The newest, released in 2017 as a 2018MY vehicle continues the Wrangler fit-for-purpose brief as being a highly-customisable, ultimate off-roader. Though the standard base car is relatively inexpensive - it is also pretty bare-bones. The reason you buy a Jeep is to modify it to your needs, and then some.
The model shown here is the SWB - really the one you need if you are going rock-crawling, though a five-door long-wheelbase model is also available, which makes more sense as the family taxi, or for offroading in a sand-type environment.
The 2018 JL Jeep includes three powertrain options, newly a 2.0 L inline-four turbo engine, a 3.6 L Pentastar V6 and a 3.0 L VM Motori Diesel. The powertrains are backed up with a 6-speed manual or the FIAT-Chrylser version of the ZF 8HP Auto transmissions.
As mentioned, the reason you buy a Jeeo is so that you can go crazy modifying it. Axles, differentials, suspension, etc can all be swapped out for upgraded versions, and you are able to do this within the Jeep catalog, as well as with external companies.
With that in mind, you would probably struggle to find two SWB Jeeps that are identical, after about 3 years of ownership.
