Kokka Rip-Off??

The right hand photo is a fat quarter I bought at Australian chain store Spotlight today. The design comes in a pink or blue colourway. I bought them because they had a "Japanese Kawaii" feel to them, though I didn't check the label on the bolt - my FQs say simply "Basic Kids Print Girl" for the pink colourway.

On the left is a Kokka print I found by chance on ebay when I was having a browse for other Japanese prints after feeling inspired. I was a little surprised when I saw the exact same design.

If you look closely you can see in the Kokka Brand print (left) the houses are a lot brighter, and the pink is a lot brighter in the rabbits. In the Spotlight FQ (right), the leaves on the trees look like they have been slightly offset in the printing and the tree trunk looks broken like the leaves are supposed to appear further down.

Is this a blatant rip-off of a Kokka print, or do Spotlight have permission to reproduce this print... or is it simply a printing mistake?

Reference for Japanese Brand comes from - ebay seller - sewing onion

If anyone knows the excact fabric line name or a link to the brand, I would find that interesting.
