The Gothic Cottage - Town Hall - Cazenovia, NY

Another view of the Gothic Cottage / Town Hall. This beautiful Gothic Revival cottage was built in 1847 by Jacob Ten Eyck using the design style of A.J. Davis. The Gothic architecture is extremely evident, with its steep roof and inset front porch. For much of its existence it was a private residence. In 1964, it was threatened with plans for demolition, to provide additional parking for a neighboring business. A determined effort by a group of local citizens resulted in the cottage being purchased and renovated by the town where it then and now serves as the Cazenovia Town Hall. Located at 7 Albany Street (Route 20) in Cazenovia. NY. (Caz/20)
