Carley Mills Schoolhouse - Hamlet of Carley Mills, NY

Close up, front view of the Carley Mills (Carley's Mills) Schoolhouse - Last standing one-room schoohouse that was listed as #6 in the Central Square School District. In 1875 with the help of the Freewill Baptst Church of Hastings the current building was erected to serve as both a schoolhouse and a church until September of 1888 when church sevices were relocated to the Village of Hastings. The one-room schoolhouse remained in operation until 1954 when the school district closed it. They then donated it to the current owner, the Carley Mills Cemetery Association. The building is now used as a Community House. It is located in the Hamlet of Carley Mills at 1236 County Route 86 in Hastings, NY. (S/B 114)
