So I managed to figure out how to set up an indoor spray booth.
This is the landing at the top of the stairs just before you enter my apartment. (I’m actually standing several steps down on the stairs to get this photo.) I managed to wedge that piece of PVC pipe between an over-the-door shelf just out of frame to the left, and a pegboard mounted wire basket in the upper right corner.
When I was outside, there was room to move around the body to get to the sides, and I just lifted up the pvc pipe and flipped the whole thing around to move betwen front and back. Here, there wasn’t space to do that. So I re-jiggered my hanging setup to attach it to a hanger with a hook that swiveled. (It’s a nice wooden hanger, so I covered it with plastic bags, to keep from painting it.). Lastly, I stuck a box fan in the window and pointed it out, to vent the fumes to outside.
With this setup space was so tight I could only paint one side at a time, and I had to wait for each coat on each side to dry before I could pivot the hanger to the next side. But I think in the grand scheme of things it wasted less time than if I had stayed outside. If I were outside, it would have been too much hassle to go up and down the stairs (I’m on the third floor), so I would have just stayed out there playing on my phone while waiting for coats to dry. But inside, I just stepped back into my apartment and contined work on other parts of the costume.
