Decades perceived in synesthesia

Starting with the 1000s, the "time-line" heads in a east direction continuously until the 1990s, when it then turns and goes in an opposite direction. Then it changes again for the 21st century, going north, where I expect it to go continuously at least until the 31st century, where it may start to slant in a north-north eastern direction.

Each decade has a particular color and direction I look at it in. I always look at the previous decades before the 1990s looking north, as if I were standing south of them. The arrows dictate which direction I'm looking at the years in.

Because my writing isn't that great (my handwriting has devolved into typing so much that I'm not used to it anymore), I will explain the colors here:

1930s: They are mostly a muddy brown, maybe a bit of yellow mixed. The colors are actually lit from the direction of the sun, and for the thirties, they'd be lit by a mid-morning sun (so from the left, kind of.)

1940s: A sort of red burgundy color. There is no sun, I think of them indoors in a dimly lit room with barely any windows. A deep color as a result.

1950s: A light greyish-bluish, with a promising afternoon sun directly north of it in the picture. Some yellow mixed in.

1960s: An oaky brown and yellow color. The sun in the same place, maybe waning.

1970s: A red-white color. The sun south of the line in the picture, so it's a morning sun. Bright. Can also be seen with the sun north of it, an afternoon sun.

1980s: Black with green, which makes me think of black SUVs in a neighborhood with tall green hedges. Mid-morning sun, to the left, which is also the time and place of the sun in the neighborhood scene it invokes. My favorite decade.

1990s: Aque blue with white, this time I'm looking at it from the north looking south, and the sun's from the south making it a morning sun. It's bright an early at the beginning of the decade, with the sun brightening the day completely by 1993, and dimming a bit by the end of 1997.

2000s: A silvery metallic white/blue/silver color. I can look either way, north or south, in this decade, and I'm standing in the middle of it. There is no sun again, this is like it's indoors. A bit darker.

Note that when I make reference to a sun, I mean that I never see a sun but it's how I see the light upon the color, which gives me a feel of what time of day it is. Rarely it's indoors to me.

I get the colors and imagery from largely real-life influences. Probably the sole synesthetic origin of the whole thing without influence is how the decades go east, then turn west, then turn north. Then the external influences that I have turned into synesthetic colors are things that I have seen that have been so ingrained in my mind that they've become that kind of thing. Like how something becomes iconic when it's so much a part of culture at some point we always know what it is.

I can explain the influences as I remember many of them with ease, but not here. The description would be way too long. I'll write it on my blog.
