On January 8, 2011, Friends of Trees planted the 400,000th tree of its 21-year history. As part of the celebratory planting, ODOT unveiled a plaque to mark the 400,000th tree. The January 8 event was part of a three-year project involving Friends of Trees, ODOT, Metro, East Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District and others to green the I-205 Multi-Use Path.
