Next we rode into the Dengie Peninsular, all the way to its end at RAF Bradwell, and it’s unusual concrete mosquito memorial. After a slightly illegal ride around the perimeter track we headed to St Peter’s Chapel in the Wall, built over what used to be the gatehouse of a large Roman fort in the 7th century, and the only surviving part of St Cedd’s monastery.
